Year 11 Celebration Mass at St John’s Church

St John’s Church was filled with joy and celebration as we marked a significant milestone for our Year 11 students with a special Mass. We were truly blessed to have Father Michael as the main celebrant. Known for his engaging and heartfelt homilies, Father Michael once again touched the hearts of the congregation.

To the delight of everyone present, Father Michael began his homily by singing the chorus of “This Little Light of Mine.” This charming and unexpected start brought broad smiles to the faces of our young people and set a joyful tone for the rest of the Mass.

During his homily, Father Michael shared some inspiring personal stories, including the impressive achievement of earning six degrees. His words were both motivating and uplifting, encouraging our students to pursue their dreams with determination and faith.

Father Michael concluded his sermon with a creative and lively rendition of “If You’re Happy and You Know It.” His version had everyone in the congregation enthusiastically participating with lines like “If you’re happy and you know it, say Jesus! Jesus!” followed by clapping hands, stamping feet, and finally, a rousing “Amen!” The church was filled with laughter and energy as we sang it several times, making it a memorable highlight of the celebration.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Father Michael for celebrating this Mass with us and for his wonderful homily that will be remembered.

Our gratitude also goes out to all the form tutors, Mrs Brookes- Head of Year and all the teachers and staff who have supported our students in reaching this significant milestone. Your dedication and hard work are deeply appreciated.

We also thank all the parents, carers, relatives, and friends who joined us in celebrating this special Mass. Your presence and support mean so much to our students.

God bless you all, and we wish our Year 11 students a happy and well deserved summer break!
