Hallam Chaplains’ Retreat in Hornsea

Last week, in Hornsea, we, the Hallam chaplains, embarked on a  two day retreat. We stayed in the Sisters of Mercy convent, and were welcomed with open arms by the 3 Sisters.

Fr. Lee, from the Sheffield University mission hub, arrived later in the evening, enriching our retreat experience.

The retreat was a blend of spiritual rejuvenation and friendship. As we gathered with hearts open we embraced the opportunity to share in prayer and fellowship.  We felt really blessed to be together and had a such great fun with lots of joy and many laughs!

On the final day, we came together to celebrate morning Mass led by Fr. Lee.

As our retreat drew to a close, we gathered for a well-deserved feast! With laughter and joyful conversation, we treated ourselves to a hearty portion of fish, chips, mushy peas and a cuppa! It was a fitting end to our retreat, a celebration of nourishment for both body and soul.

In the peaceful environment of Hornsea, together with the company of cherished friends, we found our peace, our inspiration, and our renewal. Our hearts were full of thanks and gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon us during these couple of days by the sea.

God Bless.
