This is the Notre Dame team that won the National Cross Country Cup Final when they were a Y7/8 team. Now they are a Y9/10 team and they have convincingly made it through to the Cup Final again. They are, from the left, Polly, Katie, Annie, Isabel, Maggie. They are all capable of a sub 20 minute parkrun. Congratulations!

English Schools Cross Country Cup Final, November 24th

The girls finished 5th out of 27 on Saturday 24th November in Ipswich. Our Y9/10 team consisted of:

Annie - Y9 (1st)
Isabel - Y9 (22nd)
Polly - Y9 (24th)
Katie - Y9 (68th)
Maggie - Y10 (121st)

This was a great result considering the standard is so high. They have high hopes for next year when they are Y10 and Rebecca  (Y8 currently) joins them in the team. The top four scores count. Rebecca won the Sheffield Y8/9 girls race in their absence.

What made it so special in Ipswich was that Annie won the race out of 149 runners. She was in a pack of three coming up to the final kilometre and then broke away from the others. She finished 10 seconds clear of second place. Well done Annie!!!
