We have seen some excellent sporting achievements from our pupils recently, with successes in trampolining, indoor rowing, cross country running and gymnastics. Congratulations are due to all our young athletes. See below for further details!
Trampoline success! Last weekend 3 pupils, representing their own clubs, competed in the Yorkshire regional qualifying rounds with great success. Both Elise and Bethany won their relevant age/level and Charlotte came 2nd. All pupils produced superb routines, with some PB scores and were a credit to the school. All pupils have qualified for the Yorkshire finals in March - well done and good luck.
Also, along side revising for her GCSE's Elise has also managed to pass her level 1 coaching qualification - an amazing achievement.
There were some fantastic results at the British Indoor Rowing Competition in Manchester. These Y7 students did particularly well:
Nye gained a Bronze medal, with 507 metres in a 2 minute row.
Seamus camne 10th.
Liam came 11th.
Steven came 14th.
In other sports news, both our Y7 teams qualified for the South Yorkshire School Games Cross Country final which took place in Barnsley on 9/2/17. Both teams did brilliantly with the girls actually winning!! All seven girls finished in the top 15.
Congratulations to our KS3 advanced gymnastics team and foundation cheerleading team (pictured below) who qualified yesterday for the South Yorkshire School Games final at the English Institute of Sport in March.
