How you can help your child in Science
All Y7 students will be issued with a copy of the "Science Works" text book they use in school, Y8 students will be issued with a copy of the "Science Works 2" text book to keep at home for the year. Encourage them to read this and use this book when they complete their homework. Also use it to revise for the topic tests. Look at your Childs "Tracking sheet" (stuck in their exercise books) to keep an overview of how they are doing in their tests and compare this to their assigned target levels.

Chemistry is taught in Y9, Y10 and Y11. Topics are: The fundamental ideas in chemistry, Calcium carbonate, Metals and their uses and more. In Y11 Students will be split in Double Award and Triple Award: Triple award students will complete C2 topics by the end of the year.
